Stephen crosses into Georgia, making his way toward the vibrant capital city of Tbilisi. As he approaches his destination, he stops to refuel and notices the traffic growing heavier—a reminder that he is now entering one of the country’s busiest urban centers. Once in the city, Stephen heads straight to his hotel, where a long-awaited reunion awaits him. After over 80 days apart, Stephen is finally reunited with his wife, Josianne, who has traveled all the way from Malta to join him for a portion of his journey.
The next morning, the couple sets out for the Iranian Embassy to apply for a travel visa, a critical step in continuing Stephen’s adventure. However, their hopes are dashed when his first application is rejected without any explanation. This unexpected roadblock casts a shadow over the trip, as the inability to enter Iran could mean cutting the journey short. Refusing to give up, Stephen seeks the help of a local travel company to handle the visa paperwork.
Thankfully, his persistence pays off. The very next day, Stephen receives the news he was waiting for, his visa has been approved and he is officially allowed to travel to Iran. Relieved and energized, Stephen and Josianne decide to celebrate by visiting Turtle Lake, a popular spot in Tbilisi. The trip involves a scenic cable car ride, but it proves challenging for Josianne, who has a fear of heights. Despite her discomfort, she braves the experience, and the couple spends a relaxing day at the lake, enjoying the serene environment and one another’s company.
As the day winds down, Stephen and Josianne return to their hotel, preparing for the next leg of their journey. With Iran now back on the itinerary, the adventure continues, and Stephen is more determined than ever to see where the road will lead.
