We can’t believe we’re already on part 2 of this journey which at first and at times might have sounded “unattainable”. A dream come true, really, with so many rewards and a number of challenges, of course. But challenges are always welcome, they make it all way more interesting!
So far, it’s been an interesting journey already in my quest to make it to so many countries in Asia.
Left Malta to Italy on the 21 June. Come beginning of July, it was time to get the ship from Bari to Albania whilst being treated to some torrential rain! Albania is interesting indeed; the iconic Sanderbeg Square in Tirana will remain with me for sure during this upcoming trip.
The heat, though, started to get a toll on my strength and motivation, hence I tried to travel early in the morning and only for a short period of time.
The plus side; new friendships in Albania! The locals (and stray dogs and cats) are very friendly and welcoming; the use of one common language helps of course!
On the 19th July, I made it to Kosovo! Entering Prizren was a nightmare indeed; the traffic (mostly due to road maintenance) in that intense heat was insane! Other than that, the city was buzzing and I hear that the nightlife here is a huge part of Prizren! But did I mention it’s too hot in Kosovo?!
